The Palmer Lake Star

I try to take a photo of the Palmar Lake Star about every five years to measure my experience and growth as a landscape photographer. The Star always provides a challenge through town and park lighting and weather conditions. This year was no exception. It was well below freezing when this long exposure photo was taken. This photo was taken at F22, 20 Second Exposure at ISO 100.

The Palmer Lake Star was built in 1935 to enrich the culture and pride of those living in Palmer Lake. The Star sits on the East facing side of Sundance Mountain on the westside of the Town. It was created to represent the star of Bethlehem and is lit every year in December and again during the forth of July Celebration.

If you are ever near Colorado Springs in December or Mid-Summer it is a local landmark that is worth the time to visit.
